High idle after T5 conversion Posted by BOS_saab [Email] |
Hello! I just used the MCS T5 kit to convert my 1994 900T convertible. The car started on first try but I am having an issue with the idle speed.
When cold, the car will idle at 1,000 RPM and, as it warms up, the idle will oscillate between 1,000 and 1,200 RPM. Once it reaches operating temperature, the idle stabilizes at between 1,200 and 1,300 RPM. The car runs well otherwise.
I have hunted high and low for vacuum leaks but have not had any luck finding a leak.
I have tested the outputs from all of the sensors and they are nominal.
The IAC valve is a new Bosch unit.
All of the intake hoses are do88 silicone hoses. All vacuum hoses are new as are the vacuum hose fittings.
I disconnected the evaporator canister and plugged the manifold port.
I checked the idle adjustment set screw and ensured it is backed all the way off.
The car idled normally before the conversion.
Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas?
