To answer your question, yes, the spark plugs were wet. After my initial panic, I went through the factory service manual troubleshooting checklist (thanks Saabnet for hosting the scans!) and discovered that my replacement ignition coil was the weak point. As if to punctuate this finding, the positive terminal of the coil disintegrated in my hand as I was putting it into the box to send it off for warranty replacement. Now I need to re-time my engine considering I fully removed the distributor to spray out its innards with contact cleaner, but it's as good a time as any to do so.
