front headlight adjuster question .....

so the screw popped out of that black plastic? boot (the one that doesn't have an adjuster knob attached to it on the top left of the left headlight) and the headlight is loose and pointing down. Never dealt with this before and am wondering if I need to replace the black thing which probably means removing the headlight assembly, etc., and I expect to will find myself saying "well this looks like an hour job" .... and three days later I'm still poking around inside there. maybe a quicker fix? but seriously, looking for the best advice on how to repair. fortunately the 2 adjusters themselves are solid and work just fine but without that 3rd axis of connection you just can't direct that beam where it needs to go. Thanks for any help!
