Hi - so as I was pulling out of the garage this morning, I applied the brakes .... but kept on rolling! Pressure returned in a few seconds. The pedal itself remained firm the whole time. The same thing happened a few days later when I was returning home, pulling into the garage - the same momentary loss of brakes. From what I am reading, the issue could be: accumulator, the pump itself, the pressure switch, the relay (tested ok), fuses (tested ok). What is puzzling me is that, again from what I am reading, when I turn the key on, I should definitely be able to hear that pump for 5-10 seconds, but I hear nothing. My wife who can hear a fly hiccup 300 yards away had her ears under the hood right above the accumulator and she couldn't hear a thing either. I've driven the car in a parking lot for a bit and the brakes are holding - could this be due to residual pressure?
Anyway - just trying to pinpoint this issue of a few intermittent brake failure instances. From what I've looked at already - the relay seems fine as does the fuse. But not hearing the whirr of this pump puzzles me - so I just can't test how long it is taking to pressurize the system.
Or maybe it's something else. But as I said the brake pedal is firm when this has occurred and pressure seemed to return very quickly.
Thanks for any help.
