While driving my 1986 900S today the check engine light suddenly started flashing. The pattern was four flashes, pause, four flashes, pause... repeated as long as the engine was running. There were no obvious problems. The car is still running fine, at least for the moment. I've been searching here and online and not found much yet, most of the info that comes up is for the later LH 2.4 models. Anyone know what this indicates?

EDIT: After about an hour I started the car to move it around the driveway - no check engine light. When the light came on I had been winding the engine out to around 5000 rpm. (This car sits most of the time so when I take it out I like to give it a little "Italian tuneup".)
