Back a year or two ago, I was wrestling with a new AC-system install on my 92 900s. Currently that car is mothballed for collision reasons but I will be returning to getting it going within the next 6 months.

Exact compressor matches were not abundant when I was searching but the Sanden 4434 looked like a generic equivalent for the Seiko compressor. The only downside is most generic compressors are configured as 2-belt compressors, meaning the clutch could be a little "long" when compared with the 1-belt models. There IS enough room to install a 2-belt version in the 900 but it makes things a little tight up at the top of the firewall. Any collision between the pulley and the firewall would suggest motor-mount problems or exceptionally deep potholes were you to suffer clashing between compressor and car.

There might be better equivalents out there but I haven't looked in quite awhile.
