You have a Lambda control unit which keeps the air fuel mixture within limits for the catalyst. You don't have an Adaptive (or Air) Idle Control valve either but, rather, an auxiliary air valve. It bypasses a lot of air around the throttle plate when cold and shuts down the flow as warm up occurs. It is controlled by a bimetallic strip. The leads are to a resistance heater surrounding the strip which assists in closing down the bypass when very cold temps prevent the strip from receiving sufficient heat via conduction from the block. At steady state warm running, the lead being unplugged should produce no change. You should start by checking the output of your O2 sensor and adjusting the mixture to put the frequency valve in the range it belongs in.
