Hi, got my turbo working today on my 86 SPG! I replaced all the vacuum hoses except for the dashboard ones (i may have missed one or something in the engine bay but ill check again when i have more light) and while doing this i noticed that the APC was disconnected! I took it for a spin and it worked! Well, here's where i get curious.. about how high is the needle on the boost gauge supposed to go up? It seems that sometimes it goes slightly into the red but most of the time just about at the end of the yellow. Also, sometimes it boosts a little higher and then comes back down to the end of the yellow in a second. Is this normal or is it supposed to go to a point and stick there until i let up? One more thing, this car has 164k on it and should this turbo be ready for death soon? I'm assuming that maybe it was replaced along the way since it seems so heathy at this point. I have a rebuilt turbo in my 86 900T parts car(1 year old) that i've never even had working beyond base boost. Should i keep it around or sell it to go towards my transmission fund? Thanks...
