I have 16x7.5 with 30 offset they barely fit the front, any less would rub the inside on the springs and spring mounts. Any more offset and the tires will rub on the outside (inside the fender wells). on the back they rub the inside of the fender wells until the tread is about 1/2 worn (8k on perrelli p zeros 205 50 16). 8 inches is very wide requiring probably a 215 or bigger. so your looking at a 215 35 18, which probably will not handel as well as a 205 50 16 of the same type of tire. the 18 inch wheel will weigh a lot more than the 16 or 15 or even a 17. the sided wall flex of a 205 50 is not a bad thing, over bumps in corners the side wall will absorb shock but not flex too much, the 35 or smaller series tire will not flex at all giving better initial turn in but the smallest bump will cause them to skate, that loss of traction is a loss of corrnering abitilty and possibly control. Oh yea, I also have intrax springs. The other problem is the added wieght. The car will not turn these wheels nearly as well as a lighter wheel. The suspension and cv's will wear much faster. go for a 16 inch with a 205 50 or 45, with the springs and some bilsteins you will handel unbeleivably well.
