It's likely your heater valve is going south. This is a well documented problem in saabs - the valves fail by either stiffening/seizing (sounds like yours is trying to do this), spinning freely (something was sheared off), or leaking coolant onto the drivers-side floor (in the only bad incident I ever heard of on TSN, a valve catostrophicly "blew" and the spraying hot coolant burned the drivers legs - ouch).
You've three options (from bad to good):
1. Let it go. However, when it finally breaks, you won't be able to adjust the heat - it will stay in whatever position it was forever, be it hot or cold.
2. Have a shop replace it (my former shop charged ~$250, toooo much $$$)
3. Replace it yourself. You can buy the part for about $75 from any TSN sponsor. You can find great directions for doing it in the FAQ, requires only basic tools and a ball-tip hex wrench. It's not difficult, but takes a couple hours for the first-timer. I just did mine for the first time two weeks ago.
Good luck,
