Yesterday there was a fine correspondence on this BB over the issue of cleaning injectors - and whether it is really necessary.

Before undertaking cleaning it is of course wise to pull out all 4 injectors and check their spray-pattern for conical and similar shape/quality. BUT, to do so requires you pressurize fuel-system by running fuel-pump, as if the engine was actually running.

My Q. today is this (- I am the lucky owner of an 8-valve B2012i fitted 1990 5-door SAAB900i): How do you get the fuel-pump to run (- after you have disconnected ignition-coil and removed the air-duct/boot) for more than the initial 1 second after turning the key to run position?? I believe it comes down to wire-assisted short-circuiting terminals in the fuse-box, but which of the 4 connecting the fuel-pump relay do you target??
