The shifters i sell have the pivot point changed (as well as a swivel bearing). If you simply move the pivot point of the OEM stuff say 1/4 or 1/2 inch up, the throws will be shorter. But I am not sure how it would affect the plunge so you would need to consider how to change the end of that. Possibly by getting a new longer one which I pay $31 for.
I haven't done it so I am not sure how it's done, but I am sure it's pretty easy once you figure out how to do it :o)
