get a turbo model Posted by Kevin K [Email] (#374) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Kevin K) on Mon, 23 Oct 2000 13:22:10 In Reply to: Altitude and Timing, josh, Mon, 23 Oct 2000 11:38:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
at 7K, air is 81% of sea level density. Based basic pumping action, this is like a 1.6L engine. You are likely at even less than 81% power, since the peak compression pressure is reduced, as if the compression ratio was dropped. You can get back some of this 'CR' power loss by advancing the timing. As long as the EZK is not crank triggered, this should be possible.
But at best you get a 1.6L engine, even with timing advanced. For 7K ft life, a turbo model could have the boost adjusted to get full rated hp easily.
