i'm in the process of getting 16" super aero wheels for my '91 convertible and was wondering what size tires would be ideal. i've been told that the convertibles, due to the actual convertible mechanism in the rear, carry about 400-600 more pounds than a normal 900. considering all of this weight sits in the back over the rear tires, i thought this might affect tire rubbing when i upgrade to 16" wheels. i've heard the debates about tire rubbing for a normal 900 but i don't recall anything special mentioned regarding a convertible's extra load in the back.
on that same note, i'll also be looking to get performance springs after i see how my car looks with 16" super aeros. any good suggestions from convertible owners??
i'll post some pictures once my exterior renovation is complete... next month the spg kit will be taken off and the airflow kit will be put on... along with the new wheels and tires, tinted windows.... sweet!
