Bob,
Here is something on a very similar story. I've got a modified Saab 900 T, and my other pride and joy my heavily modified 1965 Mustang Fastback. I was driving my mustang the other day around Denver and I came across a Silver Viper GTS that made a sound like it was supercharged. Now even with the heavy mods I knew that I couldn't keep up with it. Then as fate would have it we were sitting at a light, alone, and the light was changing. He nodded and the duel was on. (Well not really, more of a short lived victory.) Green....I got him out of the hole. I'm assuming that it was luck and my 4.11 rear end gears. After 30 mph it was over. I don't drag usually over the speed limit, only at the strip. The gentleman in the Viper kept on it, and we made it to the next light. I complemented on his machine and he started to heckle me about how slow my car was. I let him go for awhile and asked him how much did he pay for it. It was supercharged, and the total price was well over $97K. "Well I know that I lost," I told him. "But I can console myself with the knowledge that I just saved $93K" The man drove away, tires smoking, with a certian finger explaining his feelings of my comments. I get the same feeling when some kid in his Honda-whattis-everour-loudis wants to drag while in my Saab. I didn't purchase this vehicle to be drag racing all over the place. I wanted to be different, thats why I bought my saab. (But on the other hand its nice to have 400 horses under the mustang hood, but it stinks in 1 inch or more in the snow.) Long live the NG 900!
