ok, negative camber is when the wheel is leaning in. So you remove shims in the top a-arm bushing brackets to bring the top outward, more positive. The only way they could be right is if all of your shims are already removed. In that case you must have some other bushing or balljoint problem. I set mine to -1.4 by adding about 1/4 inch of spacers! I really doubt a worn balljoint could move it that much.
Then they set the caster by removing shims from one of the two top a-arm bushing brackets. That leans the top balljoint either forward or to the rear.
My alignment guy had the machine set up so it told him on a screen which and how many shims to remove or add to get the settings he programmed. The machine also has factory settings programmed, even for spg models. As you can see getting to the bushing bracket bolts is quite a job so maybe those guys are just lazy.
