I had that happen once. I drove my 86 900t down to Cape May to go sailing. It ran fine the whole way down. (2 hrs). After my weekend, I went to start it, and the oil light was on. After removing the valve cover, and having my wife crank it, I realized no oil was coming up! I got a ride home with some friends and picked the SAAB up with my truck the following weekend. When I went to load the car on the trailer, I figured I would try starting it. It started up WITH oil pressure! I couldn't figure it out. After I towed it home it turned out it had broken teeth on the lower timing gear and scored up the oil pump and clogged up relief valve. I removed the motor and was going to fix it, but since the parts were so much, I just put in an 85 motor with much lower milage (for less then the parts) The origional motor is fine all it needs is a oil pump, and a timing chain, lower timing gear and seals &gaskets. I am going to fix it and stuff it in a 99 I think.
Good luck, and I hope you don't end up like I did.
-Aaron
