Before choosing something that brags on your car's speed, consider the following internal dialogue that I hear every time I consider something similar:

Scenario: my car, sporting an "I'm so fast you'll get whiplash just watching" plate, is pulled over for speeding. I am polite, accord the policeman the appropriate professional respect, and generally try to present myself as responsible and deserving of some discretionary slack. Cop looks again at license plate, a variation on LeadFootBoogie, dive-for-ditch!, MOVE-OVER, it-flies, or anything else bragging about how fast my car is. At that moment, the officer reasonably concludes I must need to be taught a lesson, decides NOT to give me the benefit of the doubt, and instead exercises discretion to write ticket for reckless driving rather than simply fast driving. Moral: never brag (about having the fastest car, being the toughest guy in the bar, etc) without considering the possible consequences.

Personally, I prefer to maintain a stealth profile. Nothing goes on the car - no badges, bumper stickers, visible go-fast goodies, turbo badges, or anything else, inside or outside, visible to the officer's casual eye, that would turn his discretion against me. When I say "Yes, sir," to the officer, I don't want my car to be saying "smart aleck". The only bumper sticker I've ever sported (on another car, long ago) simply said: "Thanks, veterans."

Of course, if they know what to look for under the hood, it's all over.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that if you drive responsibly, never speed, swerve, and in all manners conduct yourself with honor and dignity, you can disregard all of this. And I'll be the first to respect your restraint and intelligence. But since I have this urge to cut loose once in a while, I'll stack the deck every time I get the chance.

Let us know what you choose.
