Rear end suspension noise...

I started to notice that when walking the car over speedbumps the rear end sways from side to side. When I got out and pushed against it it makes a noise like a clunk. I told a mechanic about it and he said that I needed to tighten the bushings in the rear end up.
Does anyone have any other advise?
Thanks!
