I'm freaking out!!! What happened?!?!

So get this...I live in Dryden, NY - near Ithaca and Cornell University. I went for a two hour drive today to Alfred University and something happened to my '84 900T. For no apparent reason, something cut out on me. I was driving around 75mph and all of a sudden my tach went completely dead! The engine did not stall as no lights came on yet I could tell that there was no power! I freaked out for a second and then stepped on the gas a little bit and the tach came back on as well as the engine! This happened again in a few minutes and the same tap on the gas brought everything back to order. About twenty minutes later it happened for the third and last time. I double-clutched into fourth as the initial gas tap did nothing and the tach cama back on only to die again. Now I was really worried and I started to pull off seeing as I was rapidly losing speed. I shifted into fifth and everything came back online again. That was the last time it happened. The rest of the drive was fine with no problems. Please help me! I need to know what's wrong! Any ideas? Could it be electrical? Last winter my car was dead for about a month before I figured out that some electrical box on the left section above the wheel well had gone completely dead. Got it replaced with a used one and everything worked fine. Could it be frying itself again? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanx!
