Easy dome light switch question

I am trying to fix a 3 way dome light switch, but I can't tell what is wrong with it. I got another from a junk yard, and it doesn't work either. I cleaned off the build up on all the metal as best as I could. Do I need to bend the thin metal "hand" one way or another? Is there something I can do to better clean it? Each of the terminals has continuity from the outside of the switch to the inside.
