Hi Anders,
A buddy helped me try the starter method to try and remove the crankshaft bolt. not a good idea! even though we held the timing chain up it got caught under the crankshaft gear and toasted some teeth. nice. now i'm definitely going in there and replacing the seals and i guess some timing chain components as well....
i'll borrow an impact wrench from work, i think that's the ticket i can't imagine putting a prybar against the aluminum case and jamming it against the flywheel. what started out as a head gasket replacement is turning into a top and bottom overhaul!!! i'm in too deep already so at this point i'm not interested in a possible tranny repair too!!
