1995 Aero 5 spd, 235k miles, experiencing LHM-TCS off/check engine when restarting car after it is warm. Cold, no problem, only after warm restart. Indy told me TCS control unit was failing (70$ new!) I browsed through TCS-related postings on this site (over 900!!) . I purchased a bleeder valve , and check valve (85$ and 29$ respectively), and replaced. Changed some of the hoses out as well, though none of them were cracked, they were old. IMMEDIATE FIX to problem.
One additional thing though- I read many posts where folks drove many miles in LHM. I did not read where anyone tried to clear this condition (at least temporarily). All this gear is computer controlled, you should consider(at least) attempting to IPL(initial program load), or "boot" the computer.
While driving in LMH (unsolicited TCS off/ctl light, cable throttle takeover) accelerate over the mph that TCS functons at (40 mph? ), and turn key off/on. Although it sometimes takes several attempts, it worked every time for me, and I was able to drive by wire/normally (until warm restart, failure again) . This action clears the LMH and tcs off condition, though a check engine light remained on, until it cleared (usually) the next day . Obviously, this must be done wth great caution, don't have the accelerator floored, and steer carefully. This is an immediate off/on no more, no less. Although some would consider this dangerous, you could easily counter with the potential danger of driving for any distance in LHM. My experience only, your call whether or not to attempt.- regards, - Tom S.
