Links you to my old novella on installing a remote keyless entry. Mine is based on JCWhitney's unit, a real cheapie but quite good. It does not include tonyg's added step of the center-console switch (91's center console is a single module, so adding a switch would be a pain, though reusing a switch might work: The rear window locking switch is not a momentary swithc though, so this is not recommended.)
Nor do I have any news on the remote starting. (5 spd.)
All in all, this project is the best car hack I've had since adding a stereo cassette AND 8-track player to a 69 Sonett! Though I found some real stumbling blocks (the wire harness on the locking ECU is very very short) it was still a one-day job and so cool when its done.
If you'd approach a project like this thinking confidently that you'd solder all the joints, then you have more than enough skill. If you're at least comfy with how not to ruin Scotchlok connectors, you can still do it.
Now check your supply of electrical tape, wire ties, and Scotchloks, and order up a keyless-entry controller.
Cheers
Ben
