91 9kcdt, 105k on the clock. 97 VW golf (jazz edition) with under 60k miles.
The Vdub has been a great car! Did the front brakes at 35k and new sneakers at 45k. Motor is the 2.0l na engine. Never leaks or burns a drop of oil. I have had no electrical problems, and am still running stock suspension. Car is pretty fun, not nearly as fast as the 91 9k. It really shines with 2 passengers, the back stuffed with gear, driving on a windy mountain road.
Recently took it for a weekend to Denver from Albuquerque (Saab was down at the time). I expected the smaller Golf to be ill mannered on the road; you know, too stiff and short for comfort on a long trip. Found out it is veeerrry well mannered at 80-85mph. A/C kept the interior at a chilly 68 deg F (90 deg outside), and we averaged better than 37mpg for the trip.
As far as stuff: I've had the Christmas tree in there; two bikes with wheels and a baby trailer; two sets of skis with a weekend worth of bags; a dresser; I dunno. Seems pretty big back there to me with the seats folded down.
Happy Hunting!
Patrick
