Related to a post from a couple of days ago and also to the very recent post about dealer diagnosing new automatic transmission for noise. Here is what the Saab A/T transmission manual says about noise:

1. Engine speed dependent noise is all gear postions - dismantle and check the transmission.

2. Noise on 2-3 shift. Check fluid for mixing of engine coolant (radiator breakdown). If so, A/T fluid will be grey/white. If fluid is ok, fill with 150ml of Lubeguard 87 81 668. Drive for 200km to give the medium time to work. If noise does not disappear, change to newer and narrower intermediate drive shaft.

3. Turbo - Charge pressure and engine speed dependent noise at low load: Change to new charge bypass valve 44 41 895 (think this means hooter valve).
