One - why does SAAB as well as BMW, Porsche, Mercedes and more use synthetic as factory fill these days. Synthetic is better and more so when used for longer periods - when dino oils tend to break down.
Two - the "leakiness" of synthetic was a problem in its early days - because the seals relied on absorbing some dino oil to maintain their shape and effectiveness. Most seals these days have been built of better materials so they do not lose their effectiveness when they are used with synthetic.
