Am planning on replacing seal where shaft enters tranny, and I'm wondering if anyone has some time saving advice on how best to carry out this procedure with engine/tranny still in car. I'm blessed with having a friend who is an indy Saab tech who lets me use his shop/lift/tools. He does a lot of tranny rebuilds and usually does this seal when tranny is out of vehicle. He's done a few NG 900 seals with tranny in car, and said it's certainly do-able on a 9000, but probably will be a pain due to space restrictions. So, before I go in there blindly, I thought I'd see if anyone else had been there and devised some time saving tips. (ZEKE? Obviously we've never met but from your input I've read in the past on the Saabnet you seem quite knowledgeable.) Or anyone else! I'm thinking I'll have to go at it from above rather than underneath, but was also considering removing the driver's side inner fender.
All input appreciated
Thanks - Erik
