I drive the exact same car as you, mine had a beat-up/fadded/cracked one on it when I bought it in 1998. Last year(2001) I replacd it with a new one however, getting my hands on this elusive part wasn't easy. First I called 4 different SAAB Dealers within the states(I'm in South Georgia) and gave them the part number dirrectly off of the old one I had. There response was all the same "This part number has been discountinued, the parts no longer made or available". I was down at this point but, hadn't given up just yet. The World Wide Web must have the answer I want to here and that's "Yes we have the part in stock". I found http://www.neobros.com and they are in the U.K and they have this item on hand along with all the others that differnt types of SAAB's would use. I called them, I told them what I wanted, they had it, I faxed my info to them. CC#, I.D, and my address. Can't do the transaction over the phone as there's some issue with Visa and the like being set up differently over there or something like that. Either way I got the part and it took less than 2 weeks to deliver to my door. The price once converted was about $105 plus shipping. I believe the total was still under $175 and although it isn't cheap, I considered it to be a "must have item" and it's still cheaper than getting one that would fit one of the newer SAAB's from the Dealers in the states. Don't believe me, call the dealer and price one that belongs on say an 93-98 model SAAB.

Neobros worked out just fine, just call and ask for what you want, follow the procedures, and relax.

See Ya,
Phil
