I've been using Axxis/PBR (formerly Repco) Deluxe pads for 25 years and they are excellent, with characteristics as you describe. I recently purchased a set from http://www.brakeco.com, though you'll need to inquire since their website is limited. I shopped around and they had the best price, which was $81 for front and rear including shipping.
The famous Metalmasters pads are perhaps better for the rigors of racing, like low fade under extreme heat and stress, but are not ideal for street use IMO, being more expensive, harder on rotors, and are reportedly weak when cold.
