So I just got a new car after breaking my old one. The 87 9k was so nice but on the way back from Amherst with the car packed full of my shit from college the turbo blew up. That's right boys and girls the bearing must have siezed and the turbine, the very thing that I like saabs for, the thing that I NEVER had before, worked only for a day after I bought the car. Let me elaborate,I lost my job so I had to move out of my apartment a month yearly (long story) and on the way home from getting canned my turbo blew to fucking peices. Great !

Of course, I blame god. Just kidding, I only acknowdelge his/her blame.
Really the problem was the over boost, I didn't have time to adjust the wastegate. In the euphoria of recent events in my life (new car, graduated college, etc while having the dreamt of turbo I neglected reality. My thoery is that the bearing went BECAUSE the boost was to high. Even though I tried not to hit the fuel-cut off I must have over boosted it. The turbo had a 100k miles.

some good news is that I had a turbo lying (from my 86) around so that is in the car now. I fixed the wierd light problem by switching the light (LR) from my 86 now donor car. The only things left are NO instrument lights and speedo now working properly.

I would like to hear others' sad stories of saabs breaking, etc
