Buying Kilen springs--what shocks to use?

Was told by Abbott Racing that the Kilen springs offer a better ride than their own springs, while maintaining an excellent performance edge. They lower the car by just under 1". They actually recommended them.
Question: what is a good shock to use with these springs? I do not want ones that are adjustable--I want to install them and go and never worry about them, but I want them to handle the road well without it being a harsh ride. Could I stay with the oem Saab ones (Sachs Boge) and just change the springs?
(I assume the shocks in the front struts are replaceable since I've seen people mention doing this procedure).
