I have been having some problems with my 9000, but it's been a great car. Do you guys think it is time for me to give it up or just put the money in for repairs? This is the first car I have ever owned, and I love it. I've put my heart and soul into it, but I don't want it to start nickel-and-diming me every week.

Basically I bought the car two years ago when I was 17, it’s a 91 9k CD Turbo. The paint and interior are flawless (After I had a headliner installed). I've had to put a new braking system on it and that's pretty much been it.

The car however seems to not want to go into gear under high-rpm conditions (e.g. when I step hard on the throttle) and the air conditioning is acting very strange. It seems that some cold air is coming out, but not much. Also I noticed when the AC is on it sounds like it is trying to suck in air behind the glove box. Also it sounded like a couple times I was driving home from work that there was something granular going through the AC system. It almost sounded like someone poured sand in the system and it was trying to move it around, but it wasn't sand as I live in Central Pennsylvania. Also I noticed it spit something out granular when I pulled into my driveway, I touched it and it seemed very cold/hot (kind of like ICY hot stuff) and it evaporated on my finger. Is the whole AC system bad or should it just be recharged.

Now, onto the tire issue. The rear tires were replaced about two years ago and the back ones now create a thumping noise when moving any speed. Our local tire expert says that the tires are cupped..? Is this the fault of the car or should I try to get two new ones and fight with Goodyear. They are the high performance ones and were quite expensive.

Thanks for any and all help you guys provide. I really appreciate it. As I am a Saab enthusiast and want to keep my car, but can't go broke doing it. My dad wants me to sell the car (BTW, I'm only 19) but I want to hang on to it. He just doesn't understand the obsession. I just wish I had enough to buy a new 95.. haha. one day.. one day.. :)

Thanks for listening to my raves and rants..

Have a good one!

-Brent
