Certainly Sven, my 1990 2-litre automatic 9000S was slowish but it could certainly get out of its own way, especially after I had fitted a Trent Saab rising-rate fuel pressure regulator. It didn't have air conditioning but it had everything else – in fact it was a thoroughly nice car, and the engine was well matched to the automatic gearbox. But it only had 130 bhp and 173 nm, while the 2.3 equivalent had a respectable 150 bhp and 212 nm, which was more or less the same as the 2-litre turbo back 1n 1990 - the only real difference on paper was that the torque was available at 3000 rpm rather than 3800. It also used less fuel than my present 2.3 turbo!

I have an idea that 9000Ss were all 2.3 litres in the US of A.
