I would suspect the hall effect transistor in the distributor IF you have that type of unit (IE/ combined with an Ignition module usually located on the left wheel well near the battery.
I have had several of these things do the cutting out routine and one eventually croaked and left me stranded in the middle of a busy highway.. Everyone claimed it had to be something else, including the Saab dealer, but A rebuilt distributor solved it. CW
