AC Noise: Belt or fan bearing?

I have a high-pitched squeal that happens intermittently in hot weather. Just had the AC recharged, so it is working for the first time in a year. The belt is about 1 year old, the idler and tensioner are original. (My recent tensioner-bracket-bolt failure did not damage anything beyond the bracket)

Could be slipping belt: Happens when ACC is running in "AUTO" and at moderate fan speeds. Interval is very consistent with cycling the compressor. When the squeal happens (It's high, 6-8 KHZ) the airflow from the ACC stops. However, the amplitude is really low. I know there's a lot of insulation under the hood, but this seems ridiculously faint.

Could be the ACC's fan bearing: When it squeals and the air stops, I do NOT notice a loss of power steering, and I don't THINK the voltage drops on the EDU. (I wasn't looking at it, but I'm super paranoid due to past failures.) It also only occurs under AUTO fan speed selection, seemingly at light-low-medium fan speeds. If I run the fan up to full-speed, then no squeals are heard at all.

Now, the pitch is so high, it seems way out of range for low fan RPMS. But it seems way too quiet to be a belt-squeal, I'm accustomed to hearing belt-squeal echo off the buildings. I'm lost, is there anything else that is turning pretty fast, (explaining the high pitch) but lightly loaded (explaining the low amplitude) inside the dash?

The temp sesnor fan?! But why would that thing silence when the ACC fan is at full speed?!

The CD player's spindle? No, the CD player died a couple of weeks ago.

Small animals trapped in the speedometer? Overworked Gremlins appealing for higher wages?
