'93 CSET auto with TCS headache (s)

Recently met a fellow with a "93 CSET auto which has TCS and is currently tripping into limp home mode. I told him to fix it and run like hell, basically. I'm curious as to whether badly worn rotors/pads (front) could trigger this as he definitely is in need of replacing those. Lots of shudder and obvious warping. My question: If I give the guy an hour or so of my time and replace these parts (He has no knowledge of Saabs or any other car savvy as far as I can tell, and even less money, which is why I advised him to sell this particular 9000 in the first place) will the problem miraculously disappear, or will it require Tech ll to go in and reset it? Assuming that worn rotors are even the culprit? I've had a few 9000's but I've always managed to avoid TCS altogether, so I've admittedly NO knowledge of the system. Or perhaps I should run like hell?!
Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks
Erik K
