I'd recommend (and so does SAAB) 1.5 -2.0 mm toe in. This helps the car go striaght and as you go down the road any clearances in the steering system will push it towards 0 instead of past it. For the final check I'd recommend the proceedure from the old (circa 1980) manual. With the car on a hard flat surface roll it slightly foward and stop. Place a reference object on the floor (I use jackstands) next to the front edge of each rim and measure the distance to each rim. Add the numbers togeather. Roll the car foward till the rear edge of the rim is just even with the same measuring point. add thes 2 numbers, they should be set 1.5 to 2mm greater than the front.
Measureing to the tires can throw this small measurement off to to any irregularities in the sidewalls. What you did is great for getting the steering wheel straight and very close on the toe.
Take the car for a test drive. If the wheel is off center subtract and add equal amounts to each side till the wheel is straight on a LEVAL road.
