Hi,
I decided, or rather fate decided, to do the 5 speed->auto myself. Since I am not the world's most experienced mechanic I recruited my brother who is a professional to help me.
We removed the Tranny (5 sp) of the old 86 9k T donor in 45 minutes. I looked at the pressure plate and it looks really good from what I can tell. The metal fingers were a bit rusty (light cover, car has not been drivin in 8 months) but nothing was bent. The rotor side of the pressure plate looked smooth and unscrathed. I was looking at the clutch plate and it was 3-4 mm think (2mm on each side) so nothing was scratching the pressure plate.
I have not looked at the slave cylinder but I will. The master cylinder has been removed and so have the shifter mech. and the pedals. I only removed the clutch and brake cause the GAS pedal is the same.

So now I'm faced with the decision of what to buy? I think that I need a rebuit slave and a clutch plate maybe also the throw out bearing?

Well, gonna look at the slave today, any constructive comments welcomed
