I've got a 1992 Saab 9000, and recently got a system installed in it. The person doing the installation said that it was near impossible to get ANYTHING though the firewall, he managed to get a wire running from the battery to the new deck through it, but nothing else. The larger, thicker wire going to the subs in the trunk had to be run UNDER the car, then up through, right by the drivers feet, under a rug, and into the side panels...
I was told it was safe, and fine, so I didn't question it...
Then my radiator fan broke, and i took it into the shop to get it repaired. The mechanic there (very, VERY good with Saabs) said that the installation of the system was HORRIBLE, and that it could have caught the car on fire. He disconnected the amp wire.
Now, for my real question:
How do I run a THICK wire from the battery, into the cabbin of the car THROUGH the firewall? I've looked myself and it dosn't seem like there's a way.
If drilling is involved, where should I drill?
