I just replaced the hose on my 89s (199k miles) after I flushed out black gunk and small pieces of rubber out of the slave. The old hose had pronounced herringbone ridges. The new hose has very slight longitudinal grooves. It made it through a 2000 mile trip last week although after 2 or 3hrs of hard running in fifth gear on the highway (90-100 degrees) the pedal would get quite stiff. Pumping it a few times would loosen things up. Although I bled it a lot when I replaced the hose, I'm going to flush again to see what might come out.
