Hello, Robert.
First, I want to thank you very much for your kind post inviting me to persist in trying to learn more about my car on this board. I appreciated reading the post immensely, and I appreciate your rare insight as well.
Second, thanks for the tip about pulling my hair back before getting near those belts! Very thoughtful of you...my hair is long and certainly vulnerable. I pulled it back before I even went outside to open the hood! :)
And finally, to the questions at hand. Yes, indeed, the compressor does say "Seiko" on it, (and thanks for the explicit directions to identify the compressor, Robert.)
And does it change pitch? Wow, does it ever. In fact, it does MORE than that...it sort of makes a big "click" and then the pitch changes...then 14-15 seconds later, it makes that "click" again, and changes pitch (pulls back), 14-15 seconds later, it "clicks" and changes pitch again. This happens consistently. I informally timed these changes, and they occur both ways every 14-15 seconds.
Am I in big trouble?
Thanks again, Robert. I so appreciate your kindness in taking the time to work with me on this problem.
Wishing you a great day,
Julia
