Before you do any of those excellent suggestions from the previous posts (Quasi's are always really good) do the easiest and quickest check of all. My antenna mast usually gets stuck in the up position on occassion because it's old (original equipment) and needs lubrication. Take some spray lubrication (WD-40 works but I've found silicone spray best) and oil the mast up. Then turn your radio on and off several times, letting the mast travel fully each time if it moves at all, to see if that frees the mast. If it doesn't, follow the advice of the others who posted.
