I swapped our 87 9000t from auto to manual using jackstands. The driver side of the frame folds down on hinges. Then you yank the strut, hub, and driveshaft as one piece. Then separate the tranny from the engine. I used a 2 by 4 to slide the transmission down and out by myself. You could probably do it in a day, definitely in a weekend. Maybe the newer models are different than our '87?? A lift would make anything easier!
