Airbag ECU ruined by leaking heater matrix

Saab 9000CS, MY95, SRS light on, fault with airbag ECU detected by indy.
Water mark on ECU noted upon its removal. Indy confirmed heater matrix is source of leak.
Occassional passengers have been complaining of an "engine compartment" (most likely coolant, speaking with hindsight) type of smell in cabin in the past 2 years. Didn't know the leak could eventually kill the airbag ECU.
Both ECU and heater matrix replaced today.
All radiators, including the heater matrix, will leak one day. Unreasonable for Saab to place delicate electronic component like the airbag ECU so near to the heater matrix.
