For a rear main seal leak, it's probably worth a shot.
Here's my weird experience: When I got the 91 it was hemorrhaging steering fluid and leaking engine oil in various places. I flushed the steering fluid thoroughly, replacing it with new. Shortly thereafter, it quit leaking fluid.
I tracked down and fixed the smaller oil leaks, then finally traced the biggest leak to the front main seal. Since I was going to switch to Royal Purple oil anyway I decided to add an oil seal restoring additive to the existing Mobil 1 for a week before changing the oil. After a week, the leak remained unchanged, so I went ahead and drained the old oil out and put the Royal Purple in. After a month or so the leak stopped. I ran RP oil in the car for 50 K miles afterward and the engine never leaked so much as another drop. So go figure ... was it the RP oil? I dunno, but it sure appears that way. Could've been a delayed response to the additive, I suppose, but I ikind of doubt it since it was only in the engine for a week, and the leak stopped another month after that.
If you try an "oil stop leak" product, look for one that is specifically intended to recondition seals. I think that's all that any of them do, but I'd make sure before I put it in.
