back in 1995 and I'm still driving it. Did about 70,000 km. Still running on the original auto transmission (an achievement in itself in Hong Kong).
Dealer serviced and repaired until 2000. Thereafter I came to know an indy who did (and is still doing) a lot of parallel imports of Saab parts from overseas. The name of the garage is Triple Rich (¨ô¶V), tel: 2558 3487. Worth going to for non-body works.
In my 7 yrs (and continuing) of ownership, the major stuff replaced are: gearshift spring kit (a.k.a. governor spring) in 1999, DI cassette in 2000, receiver for the air-conditioner in 2002, SRS computer and heater core in 2002. Only need towing once in all these years when the car refused to start due to a faulty DI cassette, I having failed to appreciate the ample warning sign in the 6 months preceding the failure.
Overall, maintainence wise, not as bad as I initially thought. As to the residual value, well, difficult to compare with the popular Japanese cars since apart from Toyota, Japanese cars made in the same year (1995) like Honda Accords are increasingly rare on Hong Kong's roads.
