But, I don't think it is actually going to hurt anything... engine cooling fan may burn out faster, I suppose.. :)
My '87 9000T is still on the original turbo at 281k miles, and the only time I let it cool down for more than 20-30 seconds is after hard running, then it's up to a minute, or until it stops glowing, whichever comes first..
I do typically drive gently for the last few minutes, but I don't think this is really necessary either, if you allow a cool down period after you park. I'd say either one will do just fine. Water cooled turbos just seem to go, and go, and go...
