I can't say how many different spring rates Saab used on various
9000's - even in a particular year. Subjectively, I think the '92
springs feel stiffer than later Aero springs, but I've never seen
any numbers to quantify things. Depending on the year, Aero
spring rates (painted color bands) varied from one year to the
next. Even someone with as much mechanical experience as
AeroGuy never got around to compiling a list of said color bands
and the different spring rates that were involved. And, there are quite a few CSE's out there with so-called Aero sway bars, ie., 19 mm in diameter. Both rear suspensions, on my '92 and '94, came off of late model CSE's - and they both measure 19 mm. The stock Aero
shock gives a very comfortable ride, I think, but I prefer something
a little stiffer - I've got Bilsteins, which many feel are too stiff, especially since there's no adjusting, like Konis.
