I done a search honest, but i can't seem to hit on the exact problem, nearest i got was either DI or air intake sensor????? so here goes:



1994 cse 2.3 T auto. 100k

new gearbox today (i was warned, but hey its only money).


went to pick up the car, lovely.

But on starting the thing the check engine light came on, the mechy had a quick look, he said it hadn't come on earlier, but couldn't find anything and they were about to close, so i took it anyway.

Drives fine shifts lovely. Now i had a look on here about how to check the codes with the ignition switch, heres what happens:

turn on switch, engine not running, check engine and check gearbox lights come on and then go off. then the check engine light flashes three times goes off and then comes back on and stays on even after starting.

sorry if its a usual problem and i've just missed it, i am thick after all!!
